About Beo Tam

The Beo Tam Story
**_Being alive and experiencing interesting things along life's journey is my joy.\ _**Beo Tam was born from an idea just as simple and natural as that.\ As an East Asian person born and raised in Hue, I was lucky to inherit the traditional cultural values of the old imperial capital from my family and from this land so rich in history. My childhood was spent helping Mạ (my mother) make cakes and candied fruit to bring to the village market. I grew up on the food Mạ cooked and the family meals she lovingly prepared. The meticulousness, skill, patience and aesthetic sense of the artisans of the traditional craft villages here have, in part, influenced and shaped who I am. So seeking out and preserving the local values of my homeland, and breathing soul into every product, is something I hold in my heart every day. I have always wanted to make things that return to Nature, return to the most Traditional values, closer to our roots than anything else.\ Looking back to years ago, I remember the first time I held a bar of handcrafted soap, a gift from a friend with the words: "You should try making a bar of soap for yourself, it's really easy!\ Out of curiosity, I began practising and made my first batches of soap. Continuing my journey of personal discovery, I was fortunate to come across Aromatherapy - the practice of aromatic balance through scent. I was truly won over and completely immersed in the captivating world of hundreds of different scents. Aromatherapy opened a gateway, both new and familiar, that helped me understand people and the world better through scent.\ One day I thought, why not combine scents from essential oils with my batches of handcrafted soap? No sooner thought than done: I used what I had learned from practising Aromatherapy in each batch of soap, then explored, experimented and observed. To my surprise, I found myself experiencing scent in a completely different way. I realised that when bathing and washing, every sense in the body is awakened by scent. Learning more, I came to see that contact with natural scents noticeably supports vital resilience and mental well-being.
In my early years of pursuing Aromatherapy, I experienced persistent skin sensitivities. I tried everything from conventional skincare to every folk remedy I knew of, but my skin remained irritated. Fortunately, once again I was led to Traditional Eastern Medicine. The principle of Balance in Eastern Medicine helped me understand the root cause of my condition, and from there guide my lifestyle and personal care choices so my skin gradually regained its natural calm and harmony. That period of studying and searching for a way for myself taught me an important lesson: "When a person falls out of balance and the body feels unwell, Eastern wellness philosophy seeks to restore harmony, and discomfort eases from there. Cultivating harmony through acupuncture, moxibustion, massage, acupressure, mindful diet, and balanced lifestyle keeps the whole being vibrant and centered."\ After that precious experience, I learned to apply the philosophy of Eastern Medicine together with aromatherapy to almost all of Beo Tam's products.\ I feel truly grateful and happy to have had the chance to explore and address the personal wellness needs of my family members and of the customers who have been with me since the very beginning, which has made my path in this craft clearer and steadier day by day.\ Beo Tam carries the wish that our customers have better experiences so they can live a more joyful life, a life more worth living.\ Feel Better, Live Happier
